Colonoscopy probe shows Americans paying out the ass for health care
According to an International Federation of Health Plans report, everyday Americans are being screwed by a health system that makes nearly all medical attention, procedures and drugs some of the most expensive in the world. According to an article published in the New York Times, a colonoscopy that cost one Long Island woman's insurer $6,385 might have cost someone in Switzerland as little as $655. Meanwhile, a $40,000 hip replacement here would cost less than $8,000 in Spain; a $35 angiogram in Canada will cost an average $914 in the U.S. and in New Zealand, $124 worth of Lipitor sets patients back just $6. Wonder no more why your premiums keep going up. [
