Those sugary, fatty snacks could give you bowel cancer, study says

Here's something to help you with your summer diet: Cakes, cookies and other fatty, sugary snacks could increase your risk of bowel cancer, a new study has found. The study, conducted at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, is reportedly the first of its kind to positively link diets high in sugar and fat with bowel cancer. Lead author Dr. Evropi Theodoratou noted, "While the positive associations between a diet high in sugar and fat and colorectal cancer do not automatically imply 'cause and effect, it is important to take on board what we've found, especially as people in industrialized countries are consuming more of these foods." Hmm, carrot sticks and celery for lunch? [Source]
